Lazy Friday

So it’s Friday and I have no plans (as of yet). It’s not that I didn’t want to make any, it’s just I’m having a really lazy end of the week (I was in bed by 8PM last night) + it’s too damn cold outside anyway.  This being said, I have made a date with the following 7 things (plus with Jose as soon as he gets home from work … in an hour or so).

My Dates for Friday Evening!!!

My Dates for Friday Evening!!!

Like I said, it’s been one of those weeks and today has been especially tough. I’m pretty sure my weariness has something to do with the fact that because of the move I have to wake up an hour earlier than back when we were living in Aravaca … so until I get the hang of things … this is how I will be feeling. My hip is also starting to hurt again … and it doesn’t matter what position I am in or what I am doing … it’s pretty darn painful. Thankfully the movers set up the couch and I so am sitting here with my snuggie next to Zidane, writing, and watching TV. Hopefully, tomorrow (with tonight’s good night sleep) I will feel better … who knows. So with this being said, the plan for this afternoon/tonight is to do the following:

1. Update the music on my iPod. I don’t want to listen to sappy music on my way to work in the mornings. It’s just not the right type of music to listen to at 7AM. I need something that’s going to keep me awake. Any suggestions?

2. Finish Penelope Stokes’ Heartbreak Cafe (only 91 pages to go). Book 1 of 2013. 1 down and only 19 to go to reach my goal for the year. I have the second one lined up already: El Grito de la Tierra (The Cry of the Earth) by Sarah Lark. I’ve read the first two (only one available in English so far … highly recommend) and so it’s only natural that I read the third (and hopefully last … I can’t take any more generations of the O’Keefes/Wardens).

3. Continue reading Dr. Cordain’s the Paleo Diet. So far so good. Still excited to start out this new adventure. Hopefully the work-in-progress that I currently have for a kitchen is ready to go in February because all the research (recipes/helpful websites/blogs/etc.) I have been doing is making me eager to start.

So that’s the plan for the rest of the day. Let me know what you are up to.

Adios!

The Good Ol’ Myspace Days – The ABCs of Me

Remember back when EVERYONE (and their mother) had a Myspace account? Of course this was pre-FB, but I remember it like it was yesterday!! I remember when all my friends would do the ABCs or any other 100 random question about themselves and then “make you” (or at least that’s what it felt like) post it on your page. So today at work (such a boring day), I was searching for information (websites/blogs/books/etc.) on the Paleo diet, and stumbled across this fantastic blog by Holly. One of her initial posts was about the ABC Slam Books, and it brought memories that I could just not resist to not do over. So here go the ABCs of me (my first post).

The ABCs

A – Available or Single? What kind of question is this? Aren´t they asking the same thing … or at least they aren’t opposites. I am happily married to the love of my life. Actually, to the second love of my life. My first love is my cat. José knows about this, it’s OK. So I guess I would be unavailable and unsingle, right?
B – Best friend? There is only a first for this: José. The second comes in not too far behind though, Moonch!! Husband tromps sister by just a wee hair …
C – Cake or Pie? Both (that´s an option right) I mean cheesecake, chocolate cake, pumpkin pie, key lime pie … I can’t choose.
D – Drink of choice? Coke Zero
E – Essential item you use every day? Perfume
F – What do you do for fun? Cook, watch TV, read, write, go out with the hubby or friends (whoever is available really), Facebook (I am so addicted)
G – Gummy bears or worms? Sour patch kids. I like sour candy … can I have sour gummy bears or worms?
H – Hometown? Born in Mugardos, Spain, but grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. So far away from each other … I hated the Atlantic Ocean for a long time. It kept me away from the g-parents, family, friends, and the man for so long …
I – Indulgence? Glass of good wine (not the cheap stuff), my pjs, and a good book. Doesn´t take much to make this girl happy.
J – January or February? January. The month of new beginnings, even if they are only for a month.
K – Kids and Names? No kids, and no names yet. We aren´t THOSE type of people who’s kids have names years before they’re born.
L – Life is incomplete without? Love and friendship.
M – Messy or Neat? Umm … depends. My house is neat (we are both allergic to dust), but my bedroom … messy (clothes are everywhere). We are also in between moves … It REALLY bothers me.
N – Number of Siblings? 1 Moonchers
O – Oranges or Apples? I feel healthier eating an apple (I don´t know why) … but I don´t do alot fruit.
P – Phobia / Fears? I absolutely hate spiders and closed spaces! Unless it’s when I go to bed, then I must be locked in my bedroom. Too many scary movies I guess.
Q – Favorite Quote? Do every act of your life as if it were your last – Marcus Aurelius
R – Reason to smile? Life is good. Weight is bad. Family is healthy. Love is amazing. Friends are fabulous.
S – Favorite Season? Summer (in Galicia, not in Madrid)
T – Favorite time of day? Night time.
U – Unkown fact about me? I am a third degree black belt in Taekwondo (Shhhh …)
V – Vegetable you don’t like? Brocolli. If brocolli didn´t exist, I wouldn´t miss it!
W – Worst habit? Never being able to hold my tongue. I pretty much say what I think AT ALL TIMES. It gets me in trouble sometimes most of the time.
X – Xrays you’ve had? Umm … this is a weird question. My ankle is pretty screwed up. I fell on it with all the weight at 13, sprained it pretty bad to the point where I almost tore the tendons and muscles … luckily with crutches for 2 months (don’t ever give really a ADHD 13 year old crutches … bad idea) and physical therapy  twice a week … I’m good to go … at least if I don´t move very much. I sprain it ever 6 months. I’m used to it.
Y – Your favorite food? My mother is 100% confident that I was Japanese and Italian in my previous lifetimes.
Z – Zodiac sign? Geminis. I don´t know if I have a twin, but I sure do have a splite personality that will go from super girlie (skirt, bows, makeup) to lets play hardcore football in 2 seconds. =)

I’m pretty sure this sums me up in a nutshell. I promise to write more tomorrow. =)
